Hollie Doyle reached another historic milestone on March 24, 2025, at Lingfield, as she secured her 1,000th win in Britain aboard HANDLE WITH CARE. This remarkable feat comes just months after she hit 1,000 career wins worldwide in September 2024, further solidifying her place among the elite jockeys in the sport. Her relentless pursuit of success, combined with an extraordinary work ethic, continues to break barriers in British and international horse racing.

Born on October 11, 1996, into a family deeply rooted in horse racing, Doyle was destined for the saddle. Her father, Mark Doyle, was a former jockey, while her mother, Caroline, competed in Arab horse races. Growing up around ponies and point-to-pointers, she developed a passion for racing early on, joining the Radnorshire & West Herefordshire Pony Club and riding in her first pony race at just nine years old. Despite suffering a serious facial injury in 2018 after a fall at Haydock Park Racecourse, she was back racing within 10 days, a testament to her resilience.

Her career truly took off in 2019 when she set a new record for most wins by a female jockey in a single year, riding 116 winners and surpassing the previous benchmark set by Josephine Gordon. The following year, she claimed her first major win at Royal Ascot, riding SCARLET DRAGON to victory in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at odds of 33/1. Her first Group race triumph came in July 2020 aboard DAME MALLIOT in the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket. That same month, she became the retained jockey for Imad Al Sagar, and in August, she made history again by becoming the first female jockey in Britain to ride five winners in a single day at Windsor.

Over the years, Doyle has accumulated an impressive list of major victories, including the British Champions Sprint Stakes in 2020 on GLEN SHIEL, the Falmouth Stakes in 2023 on NASHWA, and the Goodwood Cup in 2021 on TRUESHAN. She also won the King’s Stand Stakes in 2023 on BRADSELL, the Nassau Stakes in 2022 on NASHWA, and the Nunthorpe Stakes in 2024 on BRADSELL. Her success has extended beyond Britain, with major wins in France such as the Prix du Cadran in 2023 on TRUESHAN, the Prix de Diane in 2022 on NASHWA, and the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp in 2022 on THE PLATINUM QUEEN.

Doyle’s achievements have not gone unnoticed, earning her multiple prestigious awards. She was named Lady Jockey of the Year at the Lester Awards in 2019 and 2020, won The Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year in 2020, and became the first female jockey to be nominated for BBC Sports Personality of the Year, finishing third in 2020.

As she looks ahead, Doyle remains focused on building upon her achievements. While reaching 1,000 wins in Britain is a landmark moment, she is determined to double that figure, continuing to inspire the next generation of jockeys and proving that perseverance, talent, and hard work can shatter any ceiling in horse racing.
