Pune Races August 16 – Mysore Race Club Trophy Result
The second race of the Pune Meeting 2025 – Fourth Day produced a runaway winner as Thalassa (J: A. Sandesh, T: Faisal A. Abbas) stormed clear to capture the Mysore Race Club Trophy over 2000 metres. The 4-year-old filly by Excellent Art (GB) – Thurayaat (GB) showcased stamina and class, stopping the clock at 2:04:680 to claim the winner’s share of ₹5,64,000.
Thalassa seized control in the straight and powered away from her rivals to register an emphatic eight-length victory, leaving the opposition strung out in her wake. Golden Kingdom (J: Antony Raj S., T: Nirad Karanjawala) finished a distant second at 2:05:945, while Coeur de Lion (J: A. Prakash, T: Narendra Lagad) claimed third at 2:08:998, another 5¾ lengths adrift.
Further behind came Ruling Dynasty (J: Ramswarup, T: Aman Altaf Hussain) in fourth, while Regal Command was withdrawn at the gates.
The win was a proud moment for owners Mr Cowas D. Bajan, Mr Ajay Jalan rep Ultimo Stud Farm Pvt Ltd, Mr Thanniru Srinivas, Mr Ranjit Pai, Mr Narendra Kumar Ambwani, and Mr Chanakya Sanjeevkumar Gaur. Bred at The Poona Stud Farm, Thalassa underlined her growing reputation as a top-class staying filly with this commanding performance.
As the cheers settled, attention quickly shifted to the day’s third contest, The Janardhan Salver, another eagerly awaited event at Pune Racecourse.
