The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) continued the Pune Meeting, 2nd Day, Friday, 24th July 2026, with the 7th Race – The World’s Oldest Barbershop Trophy DIV I, a Class III contest for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (20 to 39 eligible) over 1400 metres, run at 4:00 PM. In another impressive Pune race result 24th July, TYRANNUS (J: P. Trevor) produced a polished performance to secure victory for trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, carrying the colours of Mr C. Aryama Sundaram.
TYRANNUS travelled comfortably throughout the 1400-metre contest before quickening at the right moment in the straight. P. Trevor judged the pace perfectly, allowing the gelding to settle before asking for his decisive effort inside the final furlong. Responding willingly, TYRANNUS asserted his authority late to register a well-earned success and add another notable victory to the afternoon’s Pune race result 24th July action.
SPANISH EYES (J: Akshay Kumar, T: Dallas Todywalla) finished a creditable second after staying on gamely in the closing stages. AXLROD (J: T. S. Jodha, T: Nosher Cama) completed the placings in third with another consistent effort.
With another quality contest completed, attention now turns to the 8th Race – The Unicorn Plate, scheduled for 4:30 PM, as the Pune Meeting continues with more exciting racing.
