The Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) continued the opening day’s action at Pune Racecourse with the 5th Race – The D. K. Ashish Salver on Friday, 17th July 2026. The Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 46 (0 to 19 eligible) was run over 1400 metres at 4:00 PM, where BEAST MODE produced a determined performance to score under N. S. Parmar for trainer M. K. Jadhav. In another noteworthy Pune race result 17th July, the winner stopped the clock in 1:25.536 while carrying the colours of Mr & Mrs Vijay B Shirke & Mr Jay V Shirke rep Horse Haven Breeding and Racing Private Limited & Mr Prashant Nagar rep SKJ Thoroughbreds Pvt Ltd.
BEAST MODE settled into a comfortable rhythm during the early stages before travelling strongly into the straight. As the field entered the final furlong, N. S. Parmar asked for a decisive effort and the gelding responded willingly, quickening clear to establish a winning advantage. The polished display reflected both tactical patience and finishing power, giving trainer M. K. Jadhav another success on the opening day of the Pune Meeting.
AGATHA ran an admirable race to finish second in 1:26.429 under A. Omkar for trainer Bezan Chenoy, staying on well in pursuit of the winner. COME SEPTEMBER, partnered by Akshay Kumar and trained by Narendra Lagad, filled the third spot in 1:26.560 after making steady late progress, with the leading trio separated by less than a second.
With another race added to an entertaining afternoon’s programme, attention now shifts to the 6th Race – The Certainty Plate, scheduled for 4:30 PM, as the Pune Meeting continues to build towards the feature contests of the day.
