A competitive Pune meeting will take centre stage at the historic Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) on Friday, 24 July, with a nine-race programme scheduled from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The fixture will feature a balanced mix of terms races and handicaps across different classes and age groups, highlighted by the Classic Talk Plate, which will offer the day’s highest prize money of ₹12,00,000. Sprint contests over 1000 and 1200 metres, along with middle-distance races over 1400 and 1600 metres, will ensure a varied afternoon of Flat racing, while total prize money across the card will range from ₹5,00,000 to ₹12,00,000.
Pune Race Cards 24 July
The afternoon will begin with The Ismail Khan Plate at 1:00pm, a 1000-metre contest for horses aged four years and over carrying total prize money of ₹5,00,000. Ekla Cholo, Samson, Dancing Cloud, Sky Full Of Stars, Meadow Springs and Rise All Stars will feature among the expected runners, with several others adding further depth to the opening field.
Next on the programme will be The Atomic Prince Plate at 1:30pm over 1200 metres for Class II horses rated 60 to 86, offering a purse of ₹7,50,000. Fighton, Scaramouche, Encino, Son Of A Gun and Cellini will headline the line-up as the quality of the afternoon card continues to build.
Attention will then shift to The Dr. Anil Kumar Salver Div II at 2:00pm, another 1200-metre contest for Class IV horses rated 20 to 46 with prize money of ₹5,50,000. Organised Chaos, Minari, Zalia, Latios and Zephyr will be among the notable runners expected to contest the race.
The fourth contest on the card will be The World’s Oldest Barbershop Trophy Div II at 2:30pm, a 1400-metre event for Class III horses rated 40 to 66 carrying ₹6,50,000 in prize money. Matisse, Queen Of Beauties, Diego Garcia, Caliph and Heaven’s Rhythm will feature among the leading names in another competitive handicap.
Midway through the Pune meeting, the feature race, The Classic Talk Plate, will be staged at 3:00pm over 1000 metres for three-year-old horses with total prize money of ₹12,00,000. Elevate, Blue Jet, Rock Armour, Amelia Earhart and Blue Eyed Girl will headline the field in what will be the richest contest of the afternoon.
Racing will continue with The Dr. Anil Kumar Salver Div I at 3:30pm, a 1200-metre race for Class IV horses rated 20 to 46, offering ₹5,50,000 in prize money. Chelsea, Neptune, Storm Majesty, Pinnacle and Treasure Gold will be among the expected contenders.
The action will then move to The World’s Oldest Barbershop Trophy Div I at 4:00pm, a 1400-metre contest for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 with a purse of ₹6,50,000. Zafferano, Rosario, Axlrod, Emperor Roderic and Spanish Eyes will be among the principal runners expected to line up.
The penultimate race will be The Unicorn Plate at 4:30pm, run over 1600 metres for Class IV horses rated 20 to 46 carrying prize money of ₹5,50,000. Land Of Plenty, Little John, Tajiri, Ange Raphael, Caradoc and Ekatarina will feature among the expected starters in the longest race on the programme.
The Pune meeting will conclude with The Beyond Expectation Plate at 5:00pm, a 1400-metre race for horses aged four years and over worth ₹5,00,000. Bohemian Rhapsody, Bravo Zulu, Jagger, Tropical Paradise, Gold Bar and Okinayume will headline the closing contest alongside several other runners.
The nine-race programme will bring together experienced campaigners, progressive handicappers and promising younger horses across sprint and middle-distance events, providing another competitive afternoon of Flat racing at Pune.
