The fifth race of the day, The Suraiya & Masoom Master Cup, a Class III contest for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (with 20 to 39 eligible), thrilled spectators over 1200 meters at Pune Racecourse on Sunday, 21st September 2025. Western Star (3Y B C), under jockey Antony Raj S., stormed to a commanding victory in 1:07:873, giving delight to owners Mr Sudendu Shah, Mr Kishore P. Rungta, Mr Homi Mehta, Mrs Homi Mehta, Mr Jehangir Mehta, Dr Rahul Shah, Mrs Preeti C. Shah, Mr K. M. Shah, and Mr Vinod M. Mathurawala.

From the start, Western Star settled smoothly behind the early pace, conserving energy while maintaining a clear line through the straight. In the final 200 meters, Antony Raj S. urged the colt forward, producing a well-timed burst that left rivals struggling to respond. Displaying balance, acceleration, and composure, Western Star crossed the line with authority, proving his potential in competitive company.

Bee Magical (3Y B F), ridden by Neeraj Rawal for trainer Imtiaz A. Sait, finished strongly in second place, while Aperol (4Y B C), guided by P. Trevor and trained by Nirad Karanjawala, took third. The top three horses were closely matched, highlighting the intensity of the contest.
