Precioso Ends Special Race Day on a High with Unicorn Plate Success at Pune
The Unicorn Plate, a Class V handicap for five-year-olds and over, brought down the curtain on a memorable edition of Pune’s Special Race Day 2025, and it was Precioso who made the closing statement in style.
Trained by Nazzak B. Chenoy and ridden confidently by T. S. Jodha, Precioso produced a smart burst over the final furlong to clock 1:10.659 for the 1200-metre dash. Owned by Miss Nazzak B. Chenoy, the horse responded generously when asked, delivering a polished performance to secure the win.
The pace was honest throughout, and the final metres turned into a straight sprint between seasoned contenders.
She’s A Teaser and Prince Igor Chase Hard
Finishing a close second was She’s A Teaser, piloted by Bhawani Singh for trainer S. Waheed, who clocked 1:11.261. Always well-placed, she made a strong late move but couldn’t overhaul the leader.
The ever-game Prince Igor, partnered by C. Umesh and trained by Narendra Lagad, came in third with a respectable timing of 1:11.306, keeping his reputation intact as a consistent performer.
With Precioso bringing the house down at Pune, the racing caravan now turns toward Hyderabad, where the action resumes tomorrow, August 4, 2025, with a nine-race card starting at 12:35 PM and concluding at 5:00 PM.
