The fifth race of day 22 of the Bangalore Summer Meeting brought forward The Admiral Henry John Rous Trophy, a 1400-meter handicap event for horses rated 40 to 65. With ₹6,30,000 in prize money on offer, the mid-card feature promised a test of stamina and closing speed, and it delivered.
The spoils went to Power Of Beauty, who put in a composed and well-timed run under jockey Antony Raj S. for trainer Pradeep Annaiah. Settled early, the gelding found a burst when it mattered and surged ahead to take the win in 1:26.94. The horse is jointly owned by Dr. C. N. Devayya and Mr. K. Pradeep Annaiah, marking a rewarding afternoon for them.
Sir Winston, trained by Vijay Singh and ridden by Neeraj Rawal, produced a commendable late dash to finish second in 1:26.96, staying on strongly but finding the leader just out of reach in the closing strides.
The third spot was taken by Elfin Knight, partnered by A. R Pradeep for trainer Pradeep Annaiah, rounding off a competitive finish in 1:27.37.
