Racing at the scenic Perth Racecourse produced a competitive six-race National Hunt programme on Sunday, 12 July, as runners contested a varied schedule of novice hurdles, handicap hurdles and steeplechases. The meeting featured several convincing performances, with leading trainers and jockeys sharing the honours, while Rian Corcoran emerged as the standout rider by registering a notable double across the afternoon.

Commencing the programme, the Novices’ Hurdle Race (Class 4) (GBB Race) was won by HOLY JOE for trainer Gordon Elliott. Ridden by Rian Corcoran, Holy Joe travelled strongly before drawing clear to defeat DOLLY DIOR by 3¼ lengths, while FORTUNES DAWN filled third place to complete the placings.
Continuing the afternoon, the Summer Jumps Championship Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 4) (GBB Race) was dominated by CONQUER THE BREEZE. Trained by Adam Nicol and partnered by Ryan Mania, Conquer The Breeze powered home by 10 lengths ahead of GARDE DES CHAMPS, with HYPOTENUS finishing third after keeping on steadily.
Providing one of the closest contests of the meeting, the Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4) saw LETS MINGLE, trained by Lucinda Russell & Michael Scudamore and ridden by Jack Power, edge ATLANTIC CITY by a neck. PURE GOLD stayed on for third in a tightly contested finish.
Taking centre stage later on the card, the Handicap Steeple Chase (Class 3) (GBB Race) went to GRAND CLERMONT, giving Rian Corcoran his second winner of the day. The David Pipe-trained runner defeated WALK ON QUEST by 6½ lengths, while INIS OIRR completed the first three home with another consistent effort.
Maintaining the competitive standard, the Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 4) was won by DALILEO. Guided by Brian Hughes for trainer Lisa Harrison, Dalileo finished 2¾ lengths clear of SECRET TRIX, with BALLINTUBBER BOY taking third place.
Bringing the meeting to its conclusion, the Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 5) was captured by FOLLOW CHARLIE. Trained by R. Mike Smith and ridden by Murray Dodd, Follow Charlie prevailed by 5½ lengths over STORM THE DUG, while CENTURION’S SISTER completed the placings.
