The 6th race of the Hyderabad Monsoon Races 2025, The Sikander-e-Azam Plate, a Class II handicap for three-year-olds and upward rated 60 to 85, turned heads on Monday, October 13th, at 04:15 PM. Covering 1600 meters, Perception (J: P. Sai Kumar, T: Robin Reddy Kondakalla, O: Mr Rakesh Reddy Kondakalla) delivered a commanding performance, crossing the finish line in 1:39.00 and asserting himself as a force to reckon with in Hyderabad’s competitive monsoon season.
From the break, Perception settled just off the early pace, conserving energy while tracking the leaders with patience and tactical awareness. Entering the home straight, Sai Kumar timed the challenge perfectly, guiding the winner into clear space and unleashing a decisive turn of foot that saw Perception surge past rivals to seize a well-deserved victory. The gelding’s composure under pressure and sharp acceleration highlighted both jockey skill and trainer preparation.
The runner-up honours went to Dapper Look (J: MD Ekram Alam, T: K. Satheesh), while Celestial (J: A. Ashhad Asbar, T: Laxman Singh) secured third place, rounding out an exciting top-three finish.
