Nottingham Race Results 11 August 2026

The programme offered plenty of variety for racing followers, beginning with a mile contest and moving through sprinting, staying and middle-distance events before concluding with a six-furlong fillies’ handicap. The results highlighted the importance of pace, stamina and tactical positioning around the Nottingham track.

The opening contest at 5:45pm was the Nursery Handicap Stakes for three-year-old runners, staged over 1 mile and 87 yards. It was one of the principal contests on the card and provided an engaging start to the Nottingham meeting. Apulia Bay, ridden by James Doyle, secured the victory after negotiating the mile distance successfully.

Apulia Bay’s performance stood out in a race that required young runners to combine speed with sufficient stamina for the extended mile trip. The result gave Doyle an early success on the card and provided a strong opening chapter to the meeting. The race also offered valuable experience to the developing runners involved, with the distance testing their ability to maintain their rhythm over the closing stages.

The second race at 6:15pm was a Novice Stakes over 6 furlongs and 18 yards. Baddaddan, partnered by George Wood, came out on top in the sprint contest.

The six-furlong distance placed considerable emphasis on early pace and the ability to maintain momentum through the final stages. Baddaddan produced the performance required to finish ahead and added another winning result to an increasingly competitive Nottingham card.

Novice races can provide useful indications of a horse’s development, and Baddaddan’s success was one of the notable performances of the evening. George Wood also added his name to the list of winning riders during the meeting.

The 6:45pm Apprentice Handicap Stakes provided a significant change of pace, with competitors facing 2 miles and 12 yards. Hope Rising, ridden by Harry Vigors, took the honours in the staying contest.

The extended distance demanded patience and efficient energy management. Unlike the earlier sprint, the race required runners to conserve their strength before producing their best effort towards the finish. Hope Rising handled the challenge successfully, giving Vigors a notable result in the apprentice event.

The victory was particularly noteworthy because of the contrast between this race and the opening two contests. The Nottingham programme continued to demonstrate the broad range of racing styles represented on a single card.

At 7:15pm, attention turned to the Handicap Stakes over 1 mile, 2 furlongs and 62 yards. Midnight Media, ridden by Tom Marquand, delivered another winning performance.

The middle-distance contest required a balance between tactical speed and stamina. Midnight Media successfully handled the trip, with Marquand guiding the runner through the demanding final stages.

Marquand’s victory also meant that he would feature again later in the evening, making his double appearance an important part of the Nottingham results.

The 7:45pm Handicap Stakes returned to sprinting territory, with the field competing over 5 furlongs and 8 yards. Moulin Booj, again partnered by Tom Marquand, produced the winning performance.

The result gave Marquand a second success on the card after his earlier victory aboard Midnight Media. Moulin Booj’s performance demonstrated the speed required for the shorter distance, where positioning and acceleration can play a major role in determining the outcome.

The win also provided one of the evening’s clearest examples of a rider enjoying a successful spell across different race distances.

The final contest at 8:15pm was the Fillies’ Handicap Stakes over 6 furlongs and 18 yards. Melissa Honey, ridden by David Probert, brought the Nottingham programme to a successful conclusion.

The closing race returned to the six-furlong distance, but the fillies’ contest provided a different challenge from the earlier novice event. Melissa Honey produced the strongest performance to claim the final victory of the evening.

With six different races producing six winners, the Nottingham card offered a varied set of results across sprint, middle-distance and staying events.

The meeting concluded with a strong range of performances from horses and riders across the six contests. Apulia Bay provided an early highlight, while Hope Rising demonstrated stamina over two miles and Midnight Media and Moulin Booj gave Tom Marquand a successful double. Melissa Honey then rounded off the evening with victory in the concluding fillies’ contest.

Overall, Nottingham’s August 11 meeting delivered a diverse programme, with each race bringing its own demands and producing a different winner. The results will provide useful reference points as the runners continue their campaigns through the remainder of the season.
