The race day at RWITC commenced with the Arktouros Million, a 1600-meter race run at 4:45 PM on April 5th, 2025. With a total prize purse of Rs.15,00,000 on offer, the stakes were high — the winner stood to take home Rs.7,05,000 while the runner-up was awarded Rs.3,75,000.
The honours went to NORTHBOUND, piloted by jockey R Ajinkya and trained by P S Chouhan. NORTHBOUND produced a well-judged performance to clinch victory, stopping the clock at 1:39:660 and returning odds of 2.75.
In second came YULETIDE, ably ridden by Mustakim Alam and trained by Narendra Lagad. YULETIDE ran on gamely but couldn’t match the winner’s final turn of foot, finishing with a time of 1:40:115 at odds of 6.
Rounding off the top three was CRYSTAL CLEAR, partnered by jockey Neeraj Rawal and trained by Imtiaz A Sait. The horse delivered a consistent effort, finishing in 1:40:251 with odds of 5.
CONTINENTAL DRIFT, who was sent out as the tote-favourite, failed to make a major impact despite the support.
The weather remained clear and the track conditions were deemed good, with the penetrometer reading showing 4.0 as per the Longchamp method.
