Northam Racecourse Results: Winners Shine on Autumn Race Day

Located in the Avon Valley region of Western Australia, the NORTHAM RACECOURSE welcomed race-goers on Thursday 30th October for a lively seven-race card from 11:17am to 2:53pm. The day brought together maiden hopefuls and benchmark handicaps for three-year-olds and up, offering both emerging talent and seasoned performers their shot under the autumn sun. With a crisp morning air and racing fans in attendance, today’s card provided a perfect platform for form-building, storylines and genuine competition.

Race 1: ATTVEST MAIDEN (11:17am, 1000 meters)

HOT AND HIGH powered home in 00:57.97, guided by jockey CHRIS PARNHAM who timed the move with calm precision. Trainer DION LUCIANI’s preparation showed in the way the horse travelled and finished, breeder as well as owner CAPE FALLS THOROUGHBREDS saw the result they aimed for and celebrated the first win of the day. NOW YOU SEE ME ran on strongly for second, while EXCEED THE BOOM held on well for the minor placing.

Race 2: COAST INSURANCE MAIDEN (11:52am, 1100 meters)

In the second race, DOOR BUSTER showed speed and stamina to claim the prize in 01:04.59. Under HOLLY WATSON’s steady ride, trainer DION LUCIANI had the mount tactically excellent, breeder LOLOMA FARMS PTY LTD added another winner to their tally, and owners LOLOMA FARMS PTY LTD, MR M S CARTER, MR RJ WATSON, ESQUIN, MR S H STORK and MR W W WILLCOCK enjoyed the payoff. ENERGETIC stayed in contention until the end, and JEMCONI kept up the effort for third.

Race 3: HUNTER PREMIUM FUNDING MAIDEN (12:27pm, 1600 meters)

Race three offered a solid test, and BERRY BLAST rose to the occasion, winning in 01:36.04. With WILLIAM PIKE navigating the run smartly, trainer SIMON A MILLER’s conditioning paid off, breeder GRIMLEY B B A PTY LTD’s investment return was clear, and owners MR S A MILLER, MR K G BEACHAM and MR D C BEACHAM took pride in the result. LATORIO pressed hard to the line, while INVINCIBLE THIEF remained consistent for the frame.

Race 4: UAA MAIDEN (1:05pm, 1400 meters)

Mid-card, GINGER AND TONIC asserted themselves in the closing stages, crossing in 01:23.66. LISA STAPLES kept things measured and purposeful, trainer PAUL JORDAN had the horse well-set, breeder RANGEVIEW STUD saw the pedigree shine through, and owners MRS L F JORDAN, MR G G HIGHWAY, MR T J MORLEY and MR A G TUXFORD shared the celebration. HERAULT stayed close until late, and WHISKERS HARBOUR rounded the frame with a solid effort.

Race 5: VERO HANDICAP (1:40pm, 1400 meters)

In the fifth event, MUDDY WATERS delivered under pressure, taking victory in 01:23.05. ROCKY CHEUNG judged the finish to perfection, trainer DANIEL O’CONNOR’s work came to fruition, breeder GILGAI FARM received due reward, and owners MISS S A ADAM, MR K H QUEK and MR S B ASPAGI enjoyed the moment. SOCIAL AFFAIR gave a bold chase, while FRIAR’S LEGACY stayed on well for minor honours.

Race 6: ATC HANDICAP (2:16pm, 1300 meters)

As the afternoon progressed, LIEUTENANT DUNBAR produced a polished run to win in 01:17.47. JOEY AZZOPARDI’s composure was evident, trainer GEORGE DUPRE’s preparation stood out, breeder CAITHNESS BREEDING PTY LTD added another successful chapter, and owners MR R F DRAGE, MS S L BEVAN, MR D T ROBERTS, MR S T WILLIS, MR S W SWANN, MR N C BRODIE, MRS L WATSON, MR M A CHAMBERS, MR P BENNETT, MR R W HOLLY, MRS A F WATSON and MRS L W DUPRE was pleased. SHOWLAS remained within reach, and PRAY AGAIN held on for third.

Race 7: COUNTRY WIDE INSURANCE BROKERS HANDICAP (2:53pm, 1100 meters)

The card concluded on a high note as ROCK OF KAHA surged home in 01:04.92. Under JADE MCNAUGHT’s confident ride, trainer JONATHON JACHMANN ended the meeting with a strong one, breeder MR G M WRIGHT recorded another winner, and owners MR J D JACHMANN and MR M D JACHMANN celebrated the perfect finale. SEND IT SON ran on bravely for second, while ZAC LUVS TO FLY completed the top three with a persistent effort.

Today’s afternoon at Northam brought a refreshing mixture of emerging talent and seasoned form-runners, all performing under crisp autumn skies and in a setting as regional as it is competitive.
