The eighth day of the Mysore Summer Races 2025 got underway in thrilling fashion on July 16th, with Noble Pursuit delivering a powerful performance to clinch the opening contest of the day, The Anekal Plate. The 1400-meter handicap race, reserved for horses rated 00 to 25, offered a winners’ prize of ₹3,75,000 and was contested at the Mysore Race Club.
Trained by Vishal Yadav and piloted by Abhishek Mhatre, Noble Pursuit displayed sharp acceleration and stopped the clock at 1:25.584, securing a well-deserved victory. The winner is the property of Mrs. Tanu Yadav.
Free Spirited, the pre-race favourite, had to settle for second place. Partnered by S. Antony Raj and trained by Rakesh, the runner-up gave a game chase but couldn’t match the finishing kick of the winner, finishing a close second in 1:26.237.
Rounding out the top three was The Angel Power, guided by K. Sai Kiran for trainer S Santosh Rao in 1:26.347.
The opening race set the tone for what promises to be an exciting afternoon of racing at Mysore. With six races on the card and competitive fields lined up, the action now turns to the Kemmannugundi Plate, scheduled for 3:00 pm.
