The field will comprise Chant des Vagues, Lotschberg, Top Checker, Ideal Cut, Ele Sleipnir, Mindfulness, Toshin Magic, My Home Papa, Sweet Alyssum and Incarnata. The mile contest will provide the juveniles with an opportunity to establish their credentials over a demanding distance while gaining valuable experience at graded level.

My Home Papa will have Teruo Eda aboard, while Sweet Alyssum and Incarnata will be ridden by Makoto Sugihara and Ryusei Sakai respectively.

Over the 1600-metre journey, the two-year-olds will be required to settle into a measured rhythm before producing their strongest efforts in the closing stages. The mile will test both pace and stamina, while tactical positioning will assume importance as the field approaches the decisive phase.

As the race moves towards the closing stages, finishing strength will become increasingly important. The runners will need to conserve sufficient energy early before sustaining their speed towards the finish, making the contest a useful examination of their developing racecraft.

The Niigata Nisai Stakes will carry a value of 65,500,000 yen. Its Group 3 status and 1600-metre turf distance will make it an important assignment for the 10 juveniles as they continue their progression through the Japanese racing season.
