The historic Newmarket Racecourse will stage a competitive six-race programme on Thursday, 6 August, with the opening contest scheduled for 2:20 PM and the final race set for 5:08 PM. The afternoon fixture will bring together a mix of handicaps, novice races and a nursery contest for two-year-olds across distances ranging from six furlongs to two miles. Prize money will range from £10,000 to £12,500, ensuring a varied card that will cater to sprinters, middle-distance performers and staying horses alike.

The afternoon will begin with The Knight Frank East Anglia Apprentice Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 2:20 PM. Run over 1 mile for 3YO and older horses, the race will offer £10,000 in prize money and will feature a field of seven runners. Dashing Dick, Panelli, Home Hero, Born A Rebel, Decalogue, Just Typical, and Stormy Music will line up in the opening contest, which will set the tone for the remainder of the meeting.

Attention will then switch to The Knight Frank Suffolk Heritage Nursery Handicap Stakes (Class 5) at 2:55 PM. The 1-mile contest for 2YO runners will also carry £10,000 in prize money. The seven-runner field will consist of Fast Performer, Hello You Ten, Kaboom, Scienza, Crown And Two, Zephyra, and Water Angel, all of whom will seek to make further progress in novice company.

Next on the schedule will be The Knight Frank Cambridge Connections Novice Stakes (Class 4) (GBB Race) at 4:00 PM. The 7-furlong event for 3YO and older horses will offer £10,000 in prize money and will feature a select field of four runners. Cerro Blanco, Winston’s Oath, Nothing But Love, and Tacticalist will contest the race, with the smaller line-up expected to produce an intriguing tactical contest.

The feature staying event of the afternoon will arrive at 4:33 PM with The Knight Frank Eastern Counties Handicap Stakes (Class 4) (GBBPLUS Race). Run over 2 miles for 3YO and older horses, the race will carry the day’s highest prize fund of £12,500. Minhad, Percy Shelley, High Fibre, Imperial Sovereign, and Koala Rose will form the five-runner field in what will be the longest contest on the card.

The meeting will conclude at 5:08 PM with The Knight Frank Handicap Stakes (Class 5). The closing race will be run over 1 mile and 4 furlongs for 4YO and older horses and will offer £10,000 in prize money. The final line-up will include Educator, King’s Castle, Didaar, Seeking Charles, Revelio, and Maith Mar Or, bringing the afternoon’s programme to a close.

The six-race fixture will present a balanced schedule featuring experienced handicappers, improving novice performers and promising juveniles.
