The 6th race of the afternoon, The Original Vel Racing Trophy (Div I), held on Thursday, 16th October 2025, at Mysore Racecourse, produced an electrifying finish in this Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over 1200 metres. Natural Tornado (J: Ankit Pal, T: Mansoor Khan) delivered a commanding performance for owner Mr. Raja Malhotra, stopping the clock at 1:12.953 to secure a well-earned win.
Breaking sharply from the gates, Natural Tornado settled comfortably in mid-division before making a decisive move at the bend. Under a perfectly timed ride by Ankit Pal, the bay gelding surged ahead in the final furlong, fending off late challengers with style and confidence. Trainer Mansoor Khan’s preparation shone through, as the horse displayed both acceleration and composure to dominate the home stretch.
Court Jester (J: Faiz, T: C. D. Monnappa) fought gamely to finish second, just a length and a half behind, clocking 1:13.211, while Aurele (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: Feroz M. Khan) produced a determined run to take third in 1:13.298, completing a close and competitive trifecta.
With the trophy race concluded in fine fashion, all eyes now turn to the Urs Kar Trophy (Div II) at 5:00 PM, where another thrilling sprint showdown awaits at Mysore Racecourse.
