Bidding is officially underway for the National Online Yearling Sale, opening the door to a diverse and well-credentialled catalogue of 104 lots that promises opportunity for both seasoned investors and emerging participants. Conducted via Gavelhouse Plus, the 2026 edition of the National Online Yearling Sale has already drawn strong early interest, with inspections and enquiries building momentum across New Zealand.

The five-day auction window begins on Friday, April 10, with the first lot set to close on Tuesday, April 14 at 6pm (NZT). Prospective buyers are required to complete registration in advance to gain bidding approval, ensuring a smooth and competitive digital sale environment.

All yearlings catalogued have undergone inspection by NZB agents, offering buyers an added layer of confidence. Additional viewings remain available on request, while on-farm parades have provided a closer look at the young prospects ahead of their virtual sale-ring appearance.

The appeal of the National Online Yearling Sale extends beyond immediate acquisition. Graduates will be eligible for nomination into the lucrative Karaka Millions Series, offering significant incentives just months after purchase. These include the $1 million Karaka Millions 2YO (1200m), the $1.5 million Karaka Millions 3YO (1600m), and the NZB Mega Maiden Bonus Series. Entries for these programmes close on Monday, May 4, 2026.

Depth and Opportunity in National Online Yearling Sale Catalogue

This year’s catalogue reflects a broad cross-section of the breeding landscape, featuring progeny from 48 sires ranging from proven names to emerging influences and first-season stallions. Among them are established performers such as Ace High, Alabama Express, Per Incanto, Proisir, Satono Aladdin, So You Think, and Tassort, alongside newer additions including Ardrossan, Armory, Circus Maximus, Noverre, Profondo, and Sword of State.

The sale has long been recognised for producing racetrack performers, but it also presents opportunities for those looking to develop future breeding stock. Strong pedigrees across the catalogue enhance its appeal for long-term planning as well as immediate racing prospects.

In a notable incentive, fillies offered in the sale will benefit from an extended early entry window into the Entain-NZB Insurance Pearl Series. Buyers will have until 5pm (NZT) on Friday, April 17 to secure entry at a discounted rate, providing added value in what is already a competitive marketplace.

With inspections ongoing and bidding now live, the National Online Yearling Sale continues to position itself as a key fixture in the bloodstock calendar—one that blends accessibility with genuine quality.
