The Nakayama Race Cards 18 January will combine sprint, middle-distance, and staying events, with total prize money across the card offering significant rewards. Racing is scheduled to run from 10:05 AM through 4:25 PM.
The day opens with two 3-year-old contests. Race 1 at 10:05 AM, a 1,200-metre sprint carrying ¥11,280,000, will feature It’s So Bright, Kitano to Shine, Platinum Disc, and Heima, followed by Race 2 at 10:35 AM over 1,800 metres with the same prize money, including Isa Chil Queen, Rose Princess, Turtle in May, and Reina Roja Rumba. These races will test early-season speed, stamina, and tactical ability among the younger horses.
Race 3 at 11:05 AM, a 1,800-metre 3-year-old event with ¥11,280,000, will include Chesuto, Arabian Dream, Gustav, and Cruz del Sur, while Race 4 at 11:35 AM over 2,880 metres for 4-year-olds and older with ¥16,040,000 will feature Kaiko, Anillo, Nature Ship, and Satono Epic, providing tests of middle-distance consistency and staying power.
The 1,600-metre 3-year-old race at 12:25 PM with ¥12,330,000, Race 5, includes Win Approach, Piko Blossom, Kitano Boston, and Tina, followed by Race 6 at 12:55 PM, an 1,800-metre contest for 4-year-olds and older with ¥15,620,000, featuring Taylor Tesoro, Arde Tsuyoshi, Wind One Piece, and Nocturnal. These races will challenge both speed and endurance in the afternoon programme.
Early afternoon sees Races 7 and 8, focusing on 4-year-olds and older. Race 7 at 1:25 PM, a 2,200-metre contest with ¥22,690,000, will feature Validissimus, All My Days, Valigia, and Ostrava, while Race 8 at 1:55 PM over 1,800 metres with the same purse includes Real Queen, Cafe Alloro, Taiyo Flare, and Lofty Ideal, testing both stamina and tactical positioning.
The high-profile stakes races will be Races 9 and 10. The Wakashio Stakes at 2:30 PM, 1,600 metres for 4-year-olds and older with ¥36,070,000, will see Juneau, Red Attreve, Sam Hunter, and Power Hall, followed by the January Stakes at 3:05 PM, a 1,200-metre sprint carrying ¥42,330,000, featuring Worlds Collide, Aube le Coeur, Banderuola, and Campagnola.
The day concludes with Races 11 and 12. The Keisei Hai (G3) at 3:45 PM over 2,000 metres for 3-year-olds with Â¥78,070,000 will include Black Hayate, Pod Cross, Stella Spes, and Green Energy, while Race 12 at 4:25 PM, a 1,600-metre 3-year-old contest with Â¥11,280,000, will feature Edel Hai, Noble La Jolla, Grandma’s Dream, and Fukuno Antares. These final contests will round out the Nakayama Race Cards 18 January with tests of both emerging talent and established performers.
