By | 23 Aug 2026 | Mumbai

The ever-busy Naas Racecourse will stage a seven-race programme on Sunday, August 23, with racing scheduled from 14:30pm to 17:30pm. The afternoon will feature three maiden contests, three handicaps and The Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3), which will provide the principal event of the meeting. Prize money will range from €10,000 to €100,000, while distances will stretch from 5f to 1m 3f.

Naas Racecards 23 August

Opening proceedings at 14:30pm, The Irish EBF Median Sires Series Fillies Maiden will be contested over 7f for €25,000. The seven-furlong contest will provide the first test of the afternoon, with the runners set to begin the meeting over a distance that will demand both pace and an ability to settle through the middle stages.

Next on the afternoon card at 15:00pm, The Matchbook Exchange Irish EBF Fillies Maiden will take place over 5f 205yds. The contest will carry €22,000 in prize money and will bring the field into a sharper sprinting test. The additional 205 yards beyond five furlongs will give the runners slightly more ground than a conventional five-furlong dash.

A further sprint contest will follow at 15:30pm, when The Irish EBF Series Maiden will be run over 5f 205yds for €25,000. The race will continue the sequence of maiden events and will give the runners another opportunity to negotiate the same distance before the meeting reaches its main attraction.

The afternoon’s principal contest will arrive at 16:00pm, with The Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3) taking centre stage. The feature race will carry the meeting’s highest prize fund of €100,000 and will be run over 5f 205yds. As the only Group 3 event on the card, it will provide the principal class test of the afternoon and will stand as the headline contest at Naas.

The programme will return to handicap company at 16:30pm, with The Big Evs At Tally-Ho Handicap scheduled over 5f for €10,000. The race will represent the shortest-distance test of the day and will place considerable emphasis on early speed. After the Group 3 feature, the five-furlong contest will offer a notably different examination.

A change of pace and distance will come at 17:00pm, when The Hartes Group Apprentice Handicap will be contested over 1m 3f. The race will carry €12,000 in prize money and will provide the longest-distance test of the entire programme. The extended trip will require a more measured approach, with stamina and positioning likely to become increasingly important as the field covers the additional ground.

Bringing the seven-race programme to its conclusion at 17:30pm, The TRM BIOACTIVE Energy Boost Handicap will be staged over 1m 2f 110yds for €25,000. The final race will provide another middle-distance examination, although it will fall 110 yards short of the preceding apprentice handicap. It will bring the afternoon to a close after a card that will have covered sprint, seven-furlong and staying distances.

The seven-race programme will therefore offer a broad mixture of racing at Naas Racecourse, with maiden races opening the afternoon, the €100,000 Group 3 feature providing the central attraction and three handicap contests completing the card. Racing will begin at 14:30pm, while the final runners will be scheduled to go to post at 17:30pm.

Naas Racecards 23 August will feature seven races at Naas, with The Tally-Ho Stud Irish EBF Ballyogan Stakes (Group 3) carrying the afternoon’s highest prize money of €100,000 over 5f 205yds.
