The sixth race on Day 4 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025 featured the prestigious Chevalier Trophy, a 1400-meter handicap for horses rated 40 to 65. Scheduled at 4:00 pm with a total prize purse of ₹5,75,000, the race brought together a competitive field and concluded with a well-judged finish from the eventual winner.
Vandhiyathevan, trained by Mandanna K S and ridden by C. Umesh, surged to victory with a precise run, stopping the clock at 1:29.280. The gelding showed tactical speed and a steady gallop throughout, making it a rewarding moment for winning owner Mr. K.S. Mandanna.
In hot pursuit, Thalaivaa—ridden by Koshi Kumar and trained by Ashwin Rao S—mounted a serious challenge but fell short, finishing second with a time of 1:29.566.
Amazing Imrarifa, under the guidance of Ankit Pal for trainer Mansoor Khan, rounded off the top three, completing the race in 1:29.653, just fractions behind the front two in a close-run affair.
With six races completed, the excitement continues to build at the Mysore Race Club, now shifting to the penultimate and feature race of the day—The Sutlej Plate. The 1600-meter event for horses rated 60 and above, carrying a purse of ₹7,00,000, promises high stakes and intense competition.
