Mysore Races: Natural Light shines bright in The Kemmannugundi Plate

Racegoers were treated to a thrilling second race of Day 8 of the Mysore Summer Races 2025, as Natural Light, the well-fancied favourite, lived up to expectations by taking home the Kemmannugundi Plate. The 1100-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45 was run at 3:00 pm and carried a total prize purse of ₹4,50,000.

Trained by Mansoor Khan and brilliantly ridden by Ankit Pal, Natural Light stopped the clock at 1:04.914, bringing delight to connection Mr. Raja Malhotra.

Finishing second was Blue Origin, partnered by M. J. Gautam Raj Urs for trainer Ranjeet Shinde finished in 1:05.392. The third place was claimed by Magic Circle, guided by Salman Khan for trainer Bipin V Salvi, timing in at 1:05.513.

The race added further excitement to a competitive card at Mysore Race Club. Attention now shifts to the third race of the afternoon, The Mudigere Plate, scheduled to jump at 3:30 pm. Stay tuned for more results and updates from this vibrant day of racing.
