The 3rd race of the 13th day of the Mysore (Monsoon) Races 2025 on Friday, 17th October, featured The Alekona Trophy, a Class IV contest for horses rated 20 to 45 over 1600 metres at 03:00 PM. In a display of timing and authority, Star Studded (J: Suraj Narredu) stormed past the competition for trainer Rajesh Narredu, clocking a winning time of 1:38.141. Racing in the colours of M/s Daulat Chhabria, Teja Gollapudi, So Blest Trading Co Pvt Ltd & Mr Mukul A. Sonawala, Star Studded delivered a commanding performance that thrilled the crowd.
From the break, Star Studded settled into a tactical position just off the pace, biding time as rivals tested the front. As the field approached the final 300 metres, Suraj Narredu found a gap along the rail, sending Star Studded into a decisive surge. The horse responded with impressive acceleration, taking the lead effortlessly and maintaining momentum to the finish line with authority.
The runner-up spoils went to Tigerking (J: H. Rahul, T: Vishal Yadav), finishing in 1:39.171 after staying within striking distance throughout. Selma (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: Pillay J S) closed strongly to claim third in 1:39.397, ensuring the top three crossed the line in quick succession.
With The Alekona Trophy concluded, eyes now turn to the K. Thammanna Gowda Memorial Trophy, scheduled at 03:30 PM, promising another thrilling contest for Mysore racegoers.
