The second race of the afternoon at the Mysore Racecourse’s Monsoon Meeting 2025 saw Lead Singer deliver a striking performance to claim The Secunderabad Plate, a Class V contest for horses rated 00 to 25. Run over 1100 metres on Friday, 12 September 2025 at 3:00 PM, the race witnessed Lead Singer (J: M. Prabhakaran, T: S. Ashwin Rao) storm home in 1:06.651 for proud owners M/s B P Devaraja & Kiran K S, lighting up the track with a decisive win.
Breaking alertly from the gates, Lead Singer quickly settled into a handy position just off the early leaders before launching a sharp turn of foot approaching the final furlong. M. Prabhakaran judged the pace perfectly, pushing his mount into top gear in the last 150 metres, and the mare responded with a fluent surge to cross the line with a clear neck to spare.
N R I Gold (J: Faiz, T: Md Sajid Qureshi) finished a close second in 1:06.924, staying in contention throughout but unable to peg back the winner in the dying strides. Golden Gallery (J: Vinod Shinde, T: V Lokanath) produced a late rally to secure third in 1:06.985, rounding off a tightly contested finish among the top three.
With The Secunderabad Plate concluded, all eyes now shift to the upcoming Police Trophy at 3:30 PM, expected to further raise the tempo on this action-packed fourth day at Mysore.
