The 4th race of the day at Mysore (Monsoon) Races 2025, The Maharaja’s Cup 2025 (Grade II), captivated the afternoon crowd on Friday, 19 September. Run over 1600 meters for Indian horses aged four years and over, the race saw Mayne Magic (J: Antony Raj S., T: Kishan Thomas) deliver a commanding performance, clocking 1:33.621 to secure a celebrated victory for owners Mr Eugene Aloysious Mayne & Mrs Joan Mayne.
From the break, Mayne Magic settled confidently in a prominent position, responding beautifully to Antony Raj S.’s urgings in the final 400 meters. Demonstrating both speed and composure, the four-year-old surged past rivals in the home stretch, asserting dominance with a decisive finish that thrilled the stands.
Global Influence (J: A. A. Vikrant, T: Rajesh Narredu) held on well to claim second place in 1:33.728, closely shadowing the winner throughout the stretch. African Gold (J: P. Trevor, T: Darius Byramji) finished strongly to take third in 1:33.850, ensuring the top three were separated by only fractions of a second in a scintillating contest.
