The sixth day of the Mysore Races 2025 lit up on Friday afternoon as the 3rd race, The Civil Services Trophy, unfolded over a brisk 1200 metres. A Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65, it drew a competitive field — but it was Flaming Sword who carved his name in style. Ridden with precision by P. Trevor and trained by S Dominic, the gelding carried the silks of Mr. C Aryama Sundaram to a sharp victory, stopping the clock at 1:10.656 and sealing a memorable Civil Services Trophy triumph.

Breaking alertly from the gates, Flaming Sword settled just off the early speed before Trevor angled him out approaching the final bend. With 300 metres left, the chestnut quickened smartly, slicing through rivals and seizing control inside the last furlong. The Civil Services Trophy saw its defining moment as Flaming Sword powered away from the field, displaying an impressive turn of foot.

Serai (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: Pillay J S) chased gallantly to finish second in 1:11.052, showing admirable tenacity but ultimately unable to match the winner’s late burst. Close behind came Southern Force (J: Antony Raj S., T: Faraz Arshad) in 1:11.179, who stayed on resolutely to claim the third spot, rounding off a blanket finish among the leading trio.

With the Civil Services Trophy decided in striking fashion, the spotlight now swings to the afternoon’s marquee contest — The Maharaja’s Cup (Grade II) at 4:00 PM, promising a clash of seasoned campaigners and rising stars at Mysore Races 2025.
