A mix of fast sprint performances, closely fought finishes and a strong feature-race display ensured the season began on an encouraging note, while several winners emerged as horses likely to make their presence felt in the weeks ahead.

A sharper performance emerged in The Dubare Forest Plate DIV I, another 1200-metre Class V contest, where HABIBTI delivered one of the more eye-catching displays of the afternoon. Ridden confidently by A. Ashhad Asbar for trainer H. Zulquarnain and owner Mr K Kamesh, the winner travelled smoothly before quickening decisively in the closing stages to score in 1:12.337. SCOUT, with Ankit Pal aboard for Mansoor Khan, finished second in 1:12.800, while HIGHER LOVE and S. G. Prasad completed the frame for trainer Dhyan Subbaiah K in 1:13.987.

The Kushalnagar Plate DIV II maintained the momentum of fast sprinting contests, with SILVER QUEST producing a commanding effort over 1200 metres in Class IV company. Faiz guided the K S Mandanna-trained runner into contention early before stretching clear inside the final furlong for owners M/s M Raghunath and HS Chandre Gowda. The winning time of 1:11.612 marked one of the quicker performances of the card. CHIEF ADMIRAL, ridden by Antony Raj S. for B Suresh, chased home in 1:12.393, while SECRET SHADOW, under Ankit Pal for Mansoor Khan, secured third in 1:12.934.

The Beloved Prince Plate over 1100 metres produced an accomplished sprinting display from GOLD RIDE. Sah Farid Ansari timed the challenge effectively aboard the R Ramanathan-trained runner, who accelerated smartly in the concluding stages to prevail for owners GMMSR Advisory Services LLP represented by Dr Muthiah Ramaswamy and Mr Chaduranga Kanthraj Urs. GOLD RIDE stopped the clock at 1:04.711 ahead of KLIMT, ridden by K. Settled well before launching a decisive move in the home stretch, RISE AGAIN held firm against sustained pressure to register an impressive success in 1:23.800. DRISANA, ridden by B Nikhil for trainer Pillay J S, closed strongly to finish second in 1:23.926, while HEROISM, under Faiz for C D Monnappa, was close behind in third at 1:24.068. The quality of the finish and the competitive nature of the contest ensured the feature race lived up to expectations and provided an ideal centrepiece to the season-opening programme.

The Kushalnagar Plate DIV I later in the afternoon saw BALGOWNIE continue the theme of strong sprint performances. C.A. Brisson delivered a well-judged ride for trainer J Sebastian as the winner travelled fluently before edging ahead in the final stages for owners Mrs Jiby Joji and Mr Vazhaparmbil John Joseph. The pair completed the 1200 metres in 1:12.164. SUPER STRIDE, ridden by H Rahul for Fahad Khan, secured second in 1:12.563, while RED HILLS, partnered by A. Ashhad Asbar for S Ashwin Rao, claimed third in 1:12.741.

The concluding event, The Trombay Plate over 1400 metres for Class III horses, provided another closely fought finish. BLUEMED, ridden by B Nikhil for trainer J Sebastian and owner Dr Ganesan Subramanian, finished strongly to capture the finale in 1:25.199. SPLENDIDO, under S. Imran for trainer Saddam Iqbal, pushed the winner throughout before settling for second in 1:25.266, while ROYAL BARON and K. Sai Kiran completed the placings for Bobby M in 1:25.971.
