From the opening contest to the concluding Class III event, the afternoon offered closely fought finishes and commanding victories, with EFFICACY emerging as the star of the card by landing The Mysore Summer Million 2026 in impressive fashion.
For racing enthusiasts following the Mysore race result 29 July, the meeting provided a complete picture of the quality on display throughout the afternoon, headlined by an authoritative success in the day’s feature event.
The opening contest, The Kanchanganga Plate, a 1400-metre race for three-year-olds, went the way of PILOT OFFICER, who produced a polished performance under C.A. Brisson for trainer Saddam Iqbal. Owned by M/s S. Shanker Narayanan, Kalpesh P. Patel, Dr. Suresh Bhat, Mrs. Barkha D. Lahori, Mr. M. Venugopala Reddy, Dr. Mohd Javeed Ghatala, M/s K. Parthasarathy and S. Ganapathy, the winner stopped the clock at 1:24.952. MYSORE PAK, ridden by K. The Ashwajaya Plate Division II, a Class IV contest over 1400 metres, saw MARZGOVEL produce one of the sharper performances of the day. Ridden confidently by K. Sai Kiran for trainer M. M. Uthaiah, the gelding, owned by Mr. M. P. Biddappa, clocked 1:23.739. WALTER, partnered by Antony Raj S. for Vinesh V. Naik, chased home the winner in 1:24.863, while TRUTH IN WINE finished third for B. Darshan Anthony and trainer K. Aditya in 1:25.922.
A thrilling finish unfolded in The Manasasarovara Plate, a Class V mile event, where KALLANIA edged out the opposition after a determined stretch duel. Guided by A. R. Pradeep and trained by Yogesh R for owners Ms. Kiran K. S. and Imran Khan, KALLANIA recorded 1:39.379. ARMAMENT, under Abhishek Mhatre for Ranjeet Shinde, was narrowly denied in 1:39.450, while KING CARLOS finished third for Ankit Pal and trainer Mansoor Khan in 1:39.777.
The second division of The Ashwajaya Plate, another 1400-metre Class IV contest, belonged to BOLD SHOW, who held off a late challenge under Abhishek Mhatre. Trained by R. Ramanathan for GMMSR Advisory Services LLP represented by Dr. Muthiah Ramaswamy, the winner returned 1:24.955. HABIBTI, ridden by A. Ashhad Asbar for H. Zulquarnain, finished a close second in 1:25.148, while SINATRA, with Faiz aboard for B. Suresh, secured third in 1:25.690.
Stamina came to the fore in The M.R.C. Charitable Trust Trophy, a 2000-metre Class IV event. THEOS settled comfortably before asserting in the straight under P. Trevor. Prepared by S. S. Attaollahi for owner Mr. C. Aryama Sundaram, THEOS completed the journey in 2:07.850. STAR OF LIGHT, ridden by Sah Farid Ansari for J. Sebastian, finished second in 2:08.242, while ROYAL FALCON, partnered by K. Sai Kiran for trainer Himanshu, claimed third in 2:09.130.
The spotlight then shifted to The Mysore Summer Million 2026, the prestigious 1400-metre feature for horses aged four years and over. EFFICACY produced a performance worthy of the occasion, travelling smoothly before quickening decisively in the closing stages under Shreyas Singh. Trained by S. S. Attaollahi for owners Ms. Daulat Chhabria, Maloji Baburao Bhosale and A. G. Bloodstock LLP, the winner posted an outstanding 1:22.863, the fastest 1400-metre performance of the afternoon. CROWN DRIVE, ridden by Akshay Kumar for B. Suresh, chased gamely to finish second in 1:23.087, while ECHOES OF TIME, with P. Trevor aboard for trainer Aravind G., completed the frame in 1:23.350. The victory also completed a notable double for trainer S. S. Attaollahi, whose stable enjoyed another productive afternoon.
The quality continued in The Paschimavahini Plate, a Class II sprint over 1200 metres. GOLD KITE displayed excellent speed throughout before holding off the challengers under Mohd Talib. Trained by K. Aditya for owner Mr. Kunal N. Sharma, the winner stopped the timer at 1:10.632. GOLD RIDE, ridden by Antony Raj S. for R. Ramanathan, finished second in 1:10.987, narrowly ahead of CONSTANT VARIABLE, who completed the placings for C. Umesh and trainer Fahad Khan in 1:11.042.
The meeting concluded with The Varanasi Plate, a Class III contest over 1400 metres, where SILVER QUEST signed off the afternoon in determined fashion. Guided by Jitendra Singh for trainer K. S. Mandanna, the winner, owned by Ms. M. Raghunath and H. S. Chandre Gowda, recorded 1:24.401. NEVADA GOLD, under Shamaz Shareef for Mansoor Khan, finished second in 1:25.427, while CLOUDY HILLS, ridden by Arvind Kumar N. for Bobby M, took third in 1:25.511.
