The penultimate race of the afternoon at Mysore Race Club — The Seabiscuit Plate — brought more excitement to an already high-spirited day of racing. Run over 1400 meters at 4:30 PM, this handicap event was open to horses rated 20 to 45 and carried a total prize purse of Rs. 4,50,000, with the winner earning Rs. 2,25,000.
Absolute Conquerer, trained by Vishal Yadav and ridden confidently by jockey R. Shiva Kumar, proved too strong for the rest of the field. The gelding produced a commanding performance, clocking 1:25.802 to secure a well-earned win.
Finishing second was Polar Wind, guided by Faiz and trained by C D Monnappa. The pair made a late charge but had to settle for the runner-up position with a time of 1:26.125.
Serdar, partnered by Sah Farid Ansari and trained by J S Pillay, completed the top three, finishing in 1:26.333. The gelding showed solid pace and consistency, holding off other contenders to claim third place.
With six races now concluded in fine style, the curtain is set to fall on the Mysore race day with the final contest — The Abide Plate, a 1200-meter sprint scheduled for 5:00 PM.
