The second race of the day — The Eclipse Plate, a Class V sprint for horses rated 00 to 25 — was contested over 1200 metres at 2:30 PM. Showing sharp acceleration and poise, Estefania (J: Antony Raj S.) stormed home first for trainer Arjun Mangalorkar, clocking 1:12.637. Racing in the colours of M/s Blazing Saddles (PF) & Mr K. Kaliyaperumal, she sealed her maiden seasonal win with style.
Breaking on level terms, Estefania settled along the inner rails and travelled strongly through the first half. As the field turned for home, jockey Antony Raj S. nudged her forward, and she responded instantly, sprinting clear in the final 300 metres to keep rivals at bay. The confident ride and well-timed burst ensured Estefania’s name was etched on The Eclipse Plate.
N R I Millennium (J: Dhanu Singh Deora, T: Md Sajid Qureshi) ran gamely to take second in 1:13.180, while Gismo (J: Vishwa V., T: M. Rajendra Singh) closed late to claim third in 1:13.522, completing the top trio in this competitive sprint.
