Mydaddypaddy Maintains Unbeaten Record at Haydock

Mydaddypaddy delivered another polished display at Haydock Park on Wednesday as MYDADDYPADDY MAINTAINS UNBEATEN RECORD in the opening Live Racing Streaming At CopyBet “Introductory” Hurdle. The four-year-old progressed cleanly through the two-mile contest to reinforce his credentials ahead of a likely Grade One assignment at Aintree on Boxing Day.

The gelding travelled to Haydock with two authoritative victories behind him — an 11-length bumper win at Huntingdon in March and a strong hurdles debut at Carlisle last month. Ridden quietly by Harry Skelton, he settled at the rear of the small field before moving smoothly into contention approaching the last. From that point, he quickened readily and went on to score by seven lengths from Kosac d’Oudairies.

Dan Skelton expressed satisfaction with the effort, noting that the run served its purpose of adding experience without placing undue pressure on a lightly raced performer still learning his craft. The trainer highlighted a composed jump four out and an agile, responsive effort two out as further signs of the gelding’s development over hurdles.

Skelton described Mydaddypaddy as a naturally gifted horse requiring careful handling this season. He explained that the performance offered valuable clarity regarding his ideal trip. Although the gelding once appeared capable of staying further, his sharper, more progressive work this term confirmed his suitability for the two-mile division.

The Grade One William Hill Formby Novices’ Hurdle at Aintree now stands as the expected next step. Skelton indicated that, provided conditions remain straightforward, the gelding will be prepared for the Boxing Day feature. Long-term plans remain open, with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham still the intended spring target.

Mydaddypaddy left Haydock with another assured performance, continuing his upward trajectory and reinforcing his place among the more promising novices heading into the mid-winter fixtures. With fluency, composure, and natural pace all developing, he shaped like a horse ready for stronger company in the weeks ahead.

A reliable and progressive display at Haydock confirmed Mydaddypaddy’s readiness for a step into Grade One company.
