Ghost Me produced a determined performance at Woodbine , overcoming a difficult passage along the inside to secure victory in the $125,000 My Dear Stakes. The New York-based filly showed composure beyond her experience, finding a narrow opening in the stretch before surging clear in the final stages of the 5 1/2-furlong contest for two-year-old fillies.

Making only her second career appearance and her first start with jockey Sahin Civaci aboard, Ghost Me broke well from post position four before settling in fourth position. The daughter of Ghostzapper travelled comfortably as the early leaders Barometric and Mrs D controlled the pace, while Sarayu attempted to advance around the far turn.
The race changed complexion approaching the turn when Sarayu’s move was interrupted after clipping heels with Mrs D, forcing the filly to steady. Barometric and Mrs D continued their battle through the opening half-mile in 46.30 seconds, with Mrs D taking command as the field entered the straight.
Ghost Me, who had saved ground throughout the journey, found herself with limited room along the rail. Despite the tight conditions, the unbeaten filly showed strong determination, slipping through the opening and producing a powerful late run to defeat Mrs D by 1 1/4 lengths.
The winner stopped the clock at 1:05.57 and maintained her perfect record after two starts. The My Dear Stakes results reflected a strong finish from a lightly raced filly who handled the pressure of stakes competition in impressive fashion.
Trained by George Weaver, Ghost Me had begun her career with a victory in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden turf event at Aqueduct, where she showed early speed and won by one length. She arrived at Woodbine following a series of preparations on the Saratoga training turf.
Bred by Christine Hayden and owned by RA Hill Stables and Swinbank Stables LLC, Ghost Me was purchased as a yearling during the 2025 Keeneland September sale. The bay filly is out of Ontario-bred graded stakes winner Unspurned, adding further depth to her pedigree profile.
Mrs D finished second after leading into the stretch, while first-time starter Worldly Charm secured third place. Almighty One completed the top four in the eight-horse field, with March withdrawn by the stewards before the race.
Ghost Me’s victory at Woodbine marked an important early milestone for the young filly, who now carries an unbeaten record into the next stage of her racing career.
