Musselburgh Racecourse in Scotland, UK will stage a six-race programme on Friday, 20 March, bringing together maiden hurdles, novices’ handicaps, and three competitive series finals. The card will feature runners over distances ranging from just over two miles to nearly three miles, with structured prize funds across all contests and fields of varying sizes that will test both stamina and jumping precision.

The opening race at 2:20pm will be the Maiden Hurdle Race (Class 4), which will be run over 2m 1f 101y for ÂŁ10,000. Ten runners will line up, including Alsakib, Dublinofficecallin, Last Man Standing, Lyric, Ned Broy, Quercus Robur, and Scriabin. The contest will feature several lightly raced participants who will aim to establish themselves over hurdles and produce a clear indication of future potential.

At 2:50pm, the Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 5) will be run over 2m 7f 199y with prize money of £10,000. The field of seven runners will include Big Storm Brewing, Parish Quiz, Leader Wing, Anamanda, Sam’s Falcon, and Dr Shirocco. The extended trip will demand stamina and measured energy distribution, as the runners will be required to sustain their effort over nearly three miles.

The Musselburgh fixture will continue at 3:22pm with the Hurdle Series Final (Class 2), a handicap hurdle over 2m 1f 101y offering ÂŁ40,000 in prize money. A field of fifteen runners will assemble, including Star of Guiting, Haarar, Light Fandango, Magnolia, City of Diamonds, and Ginger Mail. The race will bring together a competitive mix of experienced performers who will aim to deliver consistent and well-timed runs.

At 3:55pm, the Final Novices’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) will be staged over 2m 3f 190y for £40,000. Eleven runners will take part, including Sanilam, The G Wizard, Loulou Madrik, Noonetellsmenothin, Linalene, and Who’s Glen. The intermediate distance will require a balanced approach, as positioning and jumping accuracy will play a key role in determining outcomes.

The programme will then move to the Hurdle Series Final (Class 2) at 4:30pm, which will be run over 2m 7f 199y with £40,000 on offer. Fifteen runners will compete, including Authorized Mission, Spit Spot, Snowrocco, Lets Mingle, Kilmore Rock, and Forged Well. The near three-mile journey will place significant emphasis on endurance, and the ability to maintain a steady rhythm throughout will be essential.

The concluding race at 5:00pm will be the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 4), which will be run over 2m 3f 190y for £20,000. Seven mares will line up, including Railway Bell, Feach Amach, Spot On Soph, Just An Artist, Tuppence, and Cher Tara. The closing contest will complete the six-race programme and is expected to produce a closely matched finish among the declared runners.
