Delivering a composed and professional performance, Zayyan (J: Vivek G.) provided trainer P. Shroff with a convincing winner, breaking his maiden in style for the ownership group of Mr K N Dhunjibhoy, Mr Z K Dhunjibhoy & Ms Anosha Meyers rep. Five Stars Shipping Co Pvt Ltd, Mrs Daisy K. D. In what shaped up as another notable Mumbai race result 8 March, Zayyan travelled comfortably through the early stages before asserting his authority in the straight. Vivek G. kept the colt well positioned turning for home, and once asked for an effort, Zayyan responded willingly, lengthening stride and edging clear in the final furlong to seal the issue with assurance.
Lion Heart (J: Akshay Kumar, T: Dallas Todywalla) chased the winner home and secured the runner-up berth after staying on gamely through the closing stages. Spectra (J: Prashant P. Dhebe, T: Sanjay Kolse) finished third, maintaining a steady run to complete the frame as the trio settled the placings with a comfortable margin over the remainder of the field.
With The Rajpipla Trophy concluded, attention at the Mumbai track now turns to the J. Rustomji Soparivala Trophy, scheduled for 6:00 PM, as the evening programme continues to build momentum.
