EXUMA Stays On Strongly to Capture The Aziz H. Ahmedbhoy Trophy at Mumbai

The opening race of the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Fifteenth Day on Saturday, 7 March 2026, saw EXUMA deliver a determined staying performance to win Race No.1 – The Aziz H. Ahmedbhoy Trophy, a Class III contest for Indian horses rated 40 to 66 (20 to 39 eligible) run over 2400 metres at 05:00 PM. Ridden with patience by N. S. Parmar, the M. K. Jadhav-trained runner scored convincingly for owner Mr Prashant Nagar rep SKJ Thoroughbreds Pvt Ltd, stopping the clock at 2:30:681 after a well-judged ride over the demanding distance.

The Mumbai race result 7 March opener developed into a tactical staying contest, with runners settling early before the tempo gradually lifted approaching the final bend. EXUMA travelled comfortably through the middle stages, conserving energy before being asked for a decisive effort in the straight. Responding gamely under Parmar, the gelding lengthened his stride inside the final furlong and steadily drew clear to secure the contest with authority.

PRISTINE GLORY finished second, with Neeraj Rawal in the saddle for trainer Karthik Ganapathy, after staying on to keep the winner within reach through the closing stages. DIEGO GARCIA, ridden by Yash Narredu and trained by Adhirajsingh Jodha, completed the frame in third after a consistent run throughout the long-distance contest.

With the curtain-raiser settled, attention now shifts to The Euphemia Plate, scheduled for 05:30 PM, as the Mumbai programme continues to build toward an engaging evening of racing.
