Breaking sharply from the gates, African Gold quickly settled just behind the early leaders, biding his time as the field negotiated the opening bends. Approaching the home turn, Akshay Kumar angled him out wide, allowing the gelding to unleash a decisive turn of foot in the final 400 metres. With a sustained surge, African Gold drew clear under minimal urging, displaying both composure and authority to claim the Grade III trophy with style.
The runner-up honours went to Psychic Star (J: Vivek G., T: P. Shroff), who fought valiantly but finished slightly behind in 1:48:610, keeping the pace honest throughout. Thalassa (J: C. Umesh, T: Faisal A. Abbas) closed strongly to secure third place in 1:48:701, rounding out a competitive top three.
