The ROYAL WESTERN INDIA TURF CLUB, Mumbai Meeting 2025/26 (Ninth Day) got underway on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, with a confident opening act in Race No. 1 – The A. Hoyt Plate, a Class V contest for Indian Horses rated 1 to 26 over 1200 metres, run at 1:30 PM. In a polished performance that set the tone for the afternoon, ENSKY delivered with authority under C. Umesh, clocking 1:10:790 to score for trainer Faisal A. Abbas and owner Mrs Seema Kamlesh Shah. The early Mumbai race result 21 January reflected a decisive start to the card as ENSKY asserted class and control when it mattered most.
Settled into a handy rhythm from the break, ENSKY travelled comfortably through the early exchanges, conserving energy as the pace unfolded. Turning for home, Umesh timed the move to perfection, asking the winner to lengthen stride inside the final furlong. ENSKY responded willingly, quickening clear to establish a telling advantage and maintain it to the line, a display marked by composure and efficient acceleration.
The chase was led by TROPICAL PARADISE (J: David Allan, T: M. K. Jadhav), who stayed on resolutely to claim second, while LARA (J: Vivek G., T: Imtiaz A. Sait) finished with purpose to secure third. Although the minor placings could not reel in the winner, both runners ensured a competitive finish behind the clear-cut victor.
With the opener decided and momentum building at Mahalaxmi, attention now turns to the next race, The Ravishankar Gupta Salver Div II, scheduled for 2:00 PM, as the Mumbai card promises more intrigue as the afternoon unfolds.
