The competitive action at the Royal Western India Turf Club peaked with Race No. 9, The Gulamhusein Essaji Trophy, a Class IV contest for Indian Horses rated 20 to 46, run over 1600 metres at 4:45 PM on Sunday, 21st December 2025, during the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26. In what added another highlight to the Mumbai race result 21 December, Looking Like A Wow produced a determined performance to land the spoils for trainer Subhag Singh, with Ramswarup riding confidently to victory in 1:37:074, carrying the attachments of Mr Sudendu Shah, Mr K M Shah, Mrs Preeti C Shah, Mr Tanmay V Mathurawala, Mr Thi Ha & Mr Subhag Singh.

From the outset, the mile contest was run at an honest tempo, with the field closely bunched through the early stages. Ramswarup settled Looking Like A Wow in a handy position, conserving ground and waiting patiently for the right moment. Turning for home, the colt was angled out smoothly and responded gamely under pressure, finding extra in the final furlong to edge clear in a nail-biting finish.

Cornerstone (J: R. Ajinkya, T: P. S. Chouhan) chased the winner all the way down the straight and was beaten only narrowly, clocking 1:37:096 for second place. Absolute Gorgeous (J: N. B. Kuldeep, T: P. S. Chouhan) stayed on resolutely to finish third in 1:37:403, ensuring a tightly packed podium with margins reflecting the competitiveness of the race.

With this absorbing mile now in the books, attention at Mahalaxmi swiftly turns to the next event on the card, The Synthesis Trophy Division II, scheduled for 5:15 PM, as the Mumbai meeting continues to build towards its key highlights.
