The competitive action at Mahalaxmi Racecourse continued on Sunday, 18th January 2026, with Race No. 6 – The S. M. Shah Salver, a Class IV contest for Indian horses rated 20 to 46, run over 1400 metres at 4:30 PM. In a performance that stood out in the Mumbai race result 18 January card, American Eagle delivered a confident winning effort under Ramswarup for trainer Shazaan Shah, stopping the clock at 1:24:052. Racing in the colours of M/s Ashok Ranpise, Narendra Kumar Ambwani, Kishore P. Rungta, Ketan R. M, Vishwajeet Sood & Pranav Ranpise, the winner showed consistency and resolve to land the spoils decisively.

Settled prominently from the gates, American Eagle travelled smoothly through the early stages as the field stacked up approaching the turn. Ramswarup timed his move to perfection, asking the filly to quicken inside the final furlong, where American Eagle responded gamely, stretching clear under hands-and-heels riding to assert superiority in the closing strides.

The runner-up honours went to Lucio (J: Vivek G., T: Shazaan Shah), who chased the winner home after making a sustained effort in the straight. Bohemian Rhapsody (J: K. Nazil, T: Hosidar Daji) stayed on resolutely to finish third, completing the frame after a competitive stretch duel.

With The S. M. Shah Salver concluded, focus now shifts to the next attraction on the card, The Ferrari Plate, scheduled for 5:00 PM, as the Mumbai meeting continues to build toward an exciting climax.
