The fourth race of the Mumbai Meeting 2025/26, Seventeenth Day, held on Sunday, 15 March 2026, produced a compelling contest in The Forbes Breeders’ Juvenile Fillies’ Championship (Grade III) over 1600 metres for Indian fillies aged three years. Run at 05:15 PM, the prestigious terms event saw Vortex deliver a polished performance under P. Trevor to secure victory for trainer Shazaan Shah. Representing the ownership partnership of Mr Jaydev M Mody rep J M Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Ashok Ranpise & Mr Tegbir Singh Brar rep Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd, the filly demonstrated maturity and balance to capture one of the season’s key juvenile features.
As the Mumbai race result 15 March continued to unfold with competitive racing across the card, Vortex asserted herself as a standout performer among the three-year-old fillies. Settled comfortably during the early stages, she travelled smoothly through the mile before Trevor angled her into contention approaching the final stretch. Responding strongly when asked to quicken, Vortex produced a sustained finishing run that allowed her to edge clear of her challengers and secure the championship with authority.
The runner-up position went to Angelisa, ridden by Vivek G. and trained by P. Shroff, who kept up the chase throughout the closing stages. Pinnacle, guided by Yash Narredu for trainer M. Narredu, finished third after staying on steadily in the concluding strides, ensuring the podium was filled by three promising fillies from leading stables.
With the juvenile feature concluded, attention now turns to the upcoming The Maharaja Sir Harisinghji Trophy powered by Mr. Zavaray S. Poonawalla (Grade III) scheduled for 05:45 PM, another contest expected to maintain the evening’s competitive momentum at the Mumbai races.
