The first race of the MUMBAI MEETING 2025/26, Seventeenth Day at Mahalaxmi Racecourse on Sunday, 15 March 2026, saw Break Point produce a determined performance to win The Haunting Memories Million, a Class II handicap for horses rated 60 to 86 (40 to 59 eligible) run over 1600 metres. Ridden confidently by Neeraj Rawal and trained by P. S. Chouhan, the winner represented the ownership of Mr Jatin L Trivedi & Mr Nitin H Jain rep. J N Racing & Breeders LLP, setting the tone for the afternoon’s racing programme in Mumbai. This opening contest provided an early highlight for followers tracking the Mumbai race result 15 March from the Mahalaxmi circuit.

As the field settled into stride over the mile trip, Break Point travelled smoothly through the early stages while the leaders ensured a genuine pace. Turning for home, Rawal positioned the gelding perfectly to challenge, and once asked for an effort inside the final furlong, Break Point responded with a decisive burst of acceleration to assert control and secure a convincing victory.

Zacharias, ridden by S. Zervan for trainer P. Shroff, stayed on gamely to claim the runner-up position after attempting to match the winner’s late surge. Namiri, guided by P. Trevor and also trained by P. Shroff, finished third after making steady progress in the closing stages, ensuring the stable filled two of the three podium places in the race.

With the curtain raised on the day’s proceedings, attention now turns to the next contest, The Open Spaces Million, scheduled for 04:25 PM, as the Mumbai meeting continues to build momentum through the evening programme.
