A full afternoon of flat racing will unfold at the Royal Western India Turf Club on Sunday, with Mumbai set to stage a six-race programme that combines quality handicaps with one of the season’s premier Classic events. The Mumbai Race Cards 14 December meeting will be headlined by the Indian 1000 Guineas (Grade I), supported by competitive contests across sprint, middle-distance, and staying categories.

The action will commence at 2:30 PM with The R. J. Kolah Trophy, a Class I contest for horses rated 80 and upward over 2000 metres. SHUBANKAR, EVALDO, and CHARLIE will be declared to compete in the opener, which will place emphasis on stamina and race positioning over the longer trip. The total prize money for the race will stand at Rs. 12,00,000.

At 3:00 PM, The M. N. Nazir Trophy will be run for Class III Indian horses rated between 40 to 66 over 1600 metres. EAGLE DAY, SUBSTANTIAL, TREAT, and BREAK POINT will line up in a race expected to reward balance and finishing effort over the mile. The total prize money on offer will be Rs. 6,50,000.

Speed will take centre stage at 3:30 PM in The Mahalakshmi Sprint Million, a 1200-metre contest open to three-year-olds and older horses. MISS AMERICAN PIE, CONSTABLE, IRISH GOLD, IT’S MY TIME, CHRISTOPHANY, CREDENCE, and JADE will form a strong sprinting field, where early pace and tactical awareness should prove decisive. The race will carry total prize money of Rs. 15,00,000.

The highlight of the afternoon will arrive at 4:00 PM with The Indian 1000 Guineas (Grade I), restricted to three-year-olds over 1600 metres. AZALEA, DREAMER, FOURTH WING, FYNBOS, KAVYA, KINGS GAMBIT, SOCIAL BUTTERFLY, and VEGATHA will contest the Classic, a race that traditionally tests temperament, balance, and finishing strength. The total prize money for the Guineas will amount to Rs. 73,50,000.

At 4:30 PM, The Jehangir P. Dubash Trophy will bring together a full Class III field over 1000 metres. BEE MAGICAL, GODDES OF DAWN, ELUSIVE ART, FOXY, STORM CLOUD, MOONLIGHT KISS, CINDERELLA’S DREAM, and MANOR HOUSE will compete in what should be a closely run sprint. The race will offer total prize money of Rs. 6,50,000.

The programme will conclude at 5:00 PM with The Korea Racing Authority Trophy, a Class IV contest for horses aged four years and above over 1400 metres. STAR IMPACT, ARIES, FINCH, CHELSEA, ASHWA GYPSY, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY, RED MERLOT, and BEYOND STARS will be scheduled to bring the meeting to a competitive close. The total prize money for the finale will be Rs. 5,50,000.

The six-race programme will offer a well-balanced afternoon of racing at RWITC, with the Indian 1000 Guineas (Grade I) set to anchor a card that blends established performers with emerging three-year-old talent.
