The 8th race of the 15th day at the Mysore (Monsoon) Races 2025, The Hyderabad Race Club Trophy — a Class III contest for horses rated 40 to 65 over 1400 metres — unfolded in thrilling fashion on Sunday, 26 October at 4:30 PM. In a polished display of speed and precision, Monterio (J: L. Alex Rozario, T: K. Pradeep Annaiah) stormed home to a stylish victory, clocking 1:22.980 for owner Mr. V. Shankar, marking a standout performance on a competitive afternoon at Mysore.

Breaking smartly from the gates, Monterio settled comfortably behind the early leaders before unleashing a decisive burst of acceleration entering the final furlong. Jockey L. Alex Rozario judged the pace to perfection, guiding the bay gelding past his rivals with authority to seal a well-earned win. Trainer K. Pradeep Annaiah’s preparation shone through as Monterio displayed balance, pace, and staying power over the testing 1400m trip.

Fortis (J: Akshay Kumar, T: S. S. Attaollahi) chased hard to finish second, timing 1:23.434, while Knotty Scotty (J: Antony Raj S., T: Prasanna Kumar P.) kept on gamely to secure third in 1:23.602, ensuring a competitive finish among the top trio.
