The fifth race on the card at Bangalore Turf Club Ltd. on May 31st, 2025, saw Mayne Magic produce a polished performance to win The Dharmaprakasha L.S. Venkaji Rao Memorial Trophy, a handicap for horses rated 60 to 85. The 1400-meter contest, run at 4:00 PM, featured a strong field and carried a significant prize purse, with competition fierce right from the jump.

Ridden confidently by Antony Raj S. and trained by Kishan Thomas K., Mayne Magic wasted no time asserting dominance. After settling into a smooth rhythm early, the gelding unleashed an impressive burst in the final 300 meters, surging past his rivals and holding his advantage all the way to the post. The well-judged ride and smart placement made the victory appear effortless, underlining the horse’s rising status in mid-distance handicaps.

Close behind came Secret Saint, under top jockey P. Trevor for trainer Bharath Singh. The colt made a strong move in the straight and showed determination, but couldn’t quite reel in the leader. His late dash was eye-catching, and the performance signals he’s one to watch going forward.

The ever-consistent Arkadian, trained by P. Shroff and ridden by S. Saqlain, rounded off the top three. After tracking the pace throughout, Arkadian stayed on well to keep third spot, once again proving reliable in this company.

With this convincing win, Mayne Magic announced himself as a serious player in the Bangalore circuit’s summer handicaps. The action now shifts to The Chettinad Stud Plate, a 1600-meter mile race with a prize of ₹11,00,000. Stay tuned for more from BTC as the day continues to deliver thrills.
