The world’s leading show jumpers are set to converge on the Principality of Monaco this week as the Longines Global Champions Tour returns to one of its most celebrated venues for a milestone edition of the championship. Running from 2 to 4 July 2026, the event marks its 20th appearance in Monte Carlo, where the compact arena at Port Hercule has long been regarded as one of the sport’s most demanding stages.

Framed by the Mediterranean waterfront and situated beside the famous Formula 1 pit lane, the Monaco leg has built a reputation for rewarding accuracy over outright speed. Riders must negotiate tight lines, technical combinations and unforgiving turns, leaving little room for even the smallest mistake.
As the ninth stage of the 2026 championship season, the meeting arrives at a significant point in the title race. Valuable championship points will be at stake as established contenders and rising talents seek to strengthen their positions before the campaign enters its decisive stretch.
This year’s edition also introduces a refreshed venue layout aimed at improving the experience for riders, horses and spectators while preserving the distinctive character that has made Monaco one of the standout stops on the international circuit.
Championship hopefuls Abdel Said, Katrin Eckermann, Max KĂŒhner and Edwina Tops-Alexander headline a strong list of riders aiming to gain ground in the standings.
Several former Monaco winners also return with proven credentials at the unique venue. Ines Joly, Julien Epaillard, Maikel van der Vleuten and Emanuele Gaudiano have all enjoyed success in the Principality and will look to use that experience to their advantage once again.
Depth remains one of the defining features of the field. Former LGCT champion Gilles Thomas and former world number one Scott Brash are joined by an impressive collection of international talent, including Christian Ahlmann, Philipp Weishaupt, Pieter Devos, Denis Lynch, Niels Bruynseels, Jur Vrieling, Marco Kutscher, GrĂ©gory Cottard, Jane Richard, Yuri Mansur, Nicola Philippaerts, Marlon Zanotelli, Nayel Nassar, Sanne Thijssen, Jessica Mendoza, Sergio Ălvarez Moya and Piergiorgio Bucci.
Emerging riders will also have an opportunity to make their mark. Jeanne Sadran, Zoe Hank Conter, Anastasia Nielsen, Carlos Hank Guerreiro, Inigo Lopez de la Osa and Marie-Eder Ferrero are among the next generation hoping to impress on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
The Longines Global Champions Tour Monaco 2026 has attracted 58 CSI5* international riders, while renowned course designer Uliano Vezzani will once again be responsible for creating the technical test that has become synonymous with the event.
With its unique waterfront setting, demanding course and championship implications, Monaco continues to occupy a special place on the global show jumping calendar. Another memorable chapter is expected as elite riders compete for one of the season’s most prestigious victories.
