Little Minister Seals Photo-Finish Victory in The Goa Plate to Conclude Day 5 of Mysore Summer Races

Little Minister edges out The Golden Sunrise in a thrilling photo-finish to win The Goa Plate, the final race of Mysore Summer Races Day 5, guided by M. S. Deora and trained by J. Ganesh.

The final race of the Mysore Summer Races Day 5 ended in a dramatic flourish with The Goa Plate, a 1400-meter handicap for horses rated 20 to 45. Carrying a prize purse of ₹4,50,000, the race brought the curtain down on an exciting day of racing.

It was Little Minister who clinched the win by a narrow margin, ridden by M. S. Deora and trained by J. Ganesh. Representing the ownership of Mr. Yogesh J., the gelding displayed excellent resolve to get his nose in front in a tight photo-finish, clocking 1:28.659.

The Golden Sunrise, trained by S. Santosh Rao and partnered by P. Sai Kumar, ran a gallant second. Despite a strong final surge, the mare had to settle for the runner-up spot with a time of 1:30.569.

Yukikaze, with Rajesh K. aboard and trained by Rakesh, completed the top three, finishing very close behind in 1:30.583. The finish among the top trio made for a nail-biting finale to the day’s proceedings.

As the sun set on Day 5 of the Mysore Summer Races, racegoers were left with the thrill of close contests and impressive performances. The focus now shifts to the next race day scheduled for July 2nd, 2025, where anticipation continues to build for more top-class action on the turf.
