The sixth and concluding race of the afternoon at the Calcutta Racecourse, The Obelensky Handicap, a Class III contest for horses rated 41–66 (rated 21–46 eligible) run over 2000 metres, brought the curtain down on the Summer Meeting Second Day on Friday, 6 March 2026. Delivering a commanding performance, Duesenberg (J: Imran Chisty) surged clear in the straight to secure victory for trainer Shyam S. Habbu, stopping the clock at 2:07.018. Racing in the colours of Mr K. N. Dhunjibhoy and Mr Z. K. Dhunjibhoy, Ms Anosha Meyers rep. M/s Five Stars Shipping Co. Pvt. Ltd. & Mr Vispi R. Patel, the winner signed off the day with an authoritative success.

Settled comfortably through the early stages, Imran Chisty allowed the runner to find a smooth rhythm before gradually improving position approaching the home turn. Earlier in the afternoon, the day’s racing began with Simran’s Attitude claiming The Royal Mantle Handicap over 1600 metres at 2:30 PM, with Varun guiding the Vikash Jaiswal-trained runner to victory for owners Mrs Chhaya Jaiswal & Mr Tarak Singha Roy. Lochs And Glens (J: Nikhil Naidu, T: Neil Darashah) finished second ahead of Carnation (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Neil Darashah) in third.

The second race, The Adiella Handicap over 1100 metres, saw Phenomenal Lady deliver a strong performance under Vinod Shinde for trainer Rutherford Alford, carrying the colours of M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd. Cashaban (J: Vishal N. Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) ran on to finish second while Schwarzenegger (J: Sah Farid Ansari, T: Vikash Jaiswal) secured third.

Race three, The Obrigado Handicap over 1200 metres, went the way of Contessina, ridden by Darshan N and trained by Satish Narredu, racing for Dr Ram H. Shroff & Mr Raj Shroff rep. M/s Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr Ashok Ranpise, Mr Chetan Shantilal Shah, and M/s So Blest Trading Co Pvt Ltd. Ananta Sukha (J: Sah Farid Ansari, T: Vijay Singh) finished second while Honey Cake (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: Shyam S. Habbu) completed the placings.

The feature contest of the middle part of the card, The Averoff Cup over 1600 metres, produced a confident winner in Banduk Wali, with Vinod Shinde partnering the Rutherford Alford trainee to victory for M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd. Verrazzano (J: Vishal Bunde, T: Ritesh E. K) took second place ahead of Oh My Darling (J: Varun, T: Vikash Jaiswal) in third.

Race five, The Echoes of Light Handicap over 1200 metres, saw Shine score under Suraj Narredu for trainer Vijay Singh, racing for M/s Cairnhill Stud Farm Pvt Ltd & M/s Sarainaga Racing Pvt Ltd. Merlet (J: Imran Chisty, T: S. Waheed) finished second while Oishika (J: Abhishek Mhatre, T: Shyam S. Habbu) completed the top three.
