The curtain came down on the Calcutta Races Summer Meeting Fifth Day 2026 with Race 7, The Audubon Handicap Div II, a 1200m sprint for Maiden Class IV horses (rated 21–46, with 1–26 eligible), run on Thursday, 19th March 2026 at 05:15 PM. Delivering a composed and timely performance, Schoenberg (J: Suraj Narredu) powered home for trainer Vijay Singh, claiming top honours for M/s Poonawalla Racing & Breeding Pvt Ltd. The result added a decisive final chapter to the Kolkata race results 19 March, wrapping up the day on a competitive note.

Breaking smartly and settling into a handy position, Schoenberg travelled fluently through the early stages as the field bunched approaching the turn. Suraj Narredu waited patiently before asking for an effort in the straight, and the response was immediate. Quickening with purpose inside the final furlong, Schoenberg asserted authority and held firm under pressure to secure a well-earned maiden success.

Horus The Great (J: Hasib Alam, T: B Rajender Reddy) chased gamely to finish second, staying on in the closing stages but unable to match the winner’s finishing burst. Marcolini (J: Darshan N, T: B Mahesh) kept on steadily to claim third, ensuring the minor placings were decided by consistent efforts through the stretch.

Earlier in the card, GIMMLER (J: Antony Raj S., T: Rutherford Alford) captured The Audubon Handicap Div I for owners M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd and Mr K K Belliappa, producing a solid performance in the companion division. The Parisian Cup saw HEART deliver a notable victory, with Suraj Narredu guiding the Deepesh Narredu-trained runner to success for a large ownership group led by Dr Ram H Shroff & Mr Raj H Shroff. In Race 4, VERRAZZANO (J: A. A. Vikrant, T: Ritesh E. K) added to the day’s highlights with a well-judged win in The Artwork Handicap, racing in the silks of Mrs Radhika Narredu & Mr Teja Gollapudi.
