The concluding contest of the afternoon at Kolkata Racecourse saw Race No. 7 – The Mr Gorgeous Handicap, a Class III event for horses rated 41–66 (rated 21–46 eligible) over 1100 metres, bring the Calcutta Races Summer Meeting, Fourth Day (Thursday, 12 March 2026) to a fitting close at 5:00 PM. Delivering a sharp late surge, Cash N Run (J: Suraj Narredu) secured a decisive victory for trainer Sabeel Shariff, carrying the silks of Mr Koushik Dutta to cap the day’s proceedings in style. The performance stood out in the wider Kolkata race results 12 March, with the winner producing a composed and well-timed effort in the day’s final dash.

Breaking smartly and settling within striking distance early, Cash N Run travelled strongly through the opening stages while the field sorted itself out in the fast-paced sprint. Suraj Narredu judged the tempo to perfection, easing the runner into contention approaching the final furlong before asking for the decisive effort. The response was immediate as Cash N Run quickened smartly in the closing strides, drawing clear to land the spoils and give trainer Sabeel Shariff a notable late success on the card.

Runner-up honours went to Clever Hans (J: Hindu Singh, T: Vikash Jaiswal), who kept on gamely in the straight but could not match the winner’s late acceleration, while Trillionaire (J: Gaurav Singh, T: B. Rajender Reddy) stayed on to secure third place as the field crossed the line in the final event of the day.

Earlier in the afternoon, the programme began with Race No. 1 – The Fly Like The Wind Handicap over 1400 metres, where Moneycatcher (J: M. S. Deora, T: Shafiq Khan) struck the opening blow for owners Mr Mohammed Shakeel, Mr Rustom E Daroga & Mr Shafiq Khan, holding off Made In Heaven (J: Darshan N, T: Rutherford Alford) with Lineupandcollect (J: Gaurav Singh, T: B. Rajender Reddy) finishing third.

The action continued with Race No. 2 – The Quasar Handicap over a mile, where Track Striking (J: R. Vaibhav, T: V. Ajith Kumar) delivered a measured performance to score for Dr Murali Venkataswamy, ahead of Dubai Prince (J: Darshan N, T: Shafiq Khan) and Soul Aquarian (J: M. S. Deora, T: Javed Khan).

The sprinting division took centre stage in Race No. 3 – The Whomakestherules Handicap Div I, with Mi Arion (J: Vinod Shinde, T: Rutherford Alford) racing to victory for M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd, while Cashable (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Ritesh E. K) finished second and Memphis (J: M. S. Deora, T: Javed Khan) took third.

The following event, Race No. 4 – The Whomakestherules Handicap Div II, saw Supreme Fantasy (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Neil Darashah) claim the honours for a large ownership group headed by Mr Enrico Piperno, with Bundle Of Charm (J: Gaurav Singh, T: B. Rajender Reddy) and Spirit Bay (J: Sah Farid Ansari, T: Vikash Jaiswal) completing the placings.

Middle-distance contests dominated the later stages of the card, beginning with Race No. 5 – The Abbeville Handicap over 1600 metres, where Togo (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Neil Darashah) produced a strong finishing run to win for owners Mr Enrico R Piperno, Mr Prateek Bhalotia, Mr Vivek Choudhary, Mr Prashanth Sharma, Mr Simarpreet Singh & M/s Manjri Horse Breeders’ Farm Pvt Ltd. Cigar Galaxy (J: P. Trevor, T: Aashay Doctor) finished second, with Whirlwind (J: Darshan N, T: Vijay Singh) third.

The penultimate contest, Race No. 6 – The Mysore Race Club Ltd Cup, saw Ruling Star (J: Vishal N. Bunde, T: Sabeel Shariff) score an impressive victory for Mr Koushik Dutta, ahead of Charismatic (J: Suraj Narredu, T: Rutherford Alford) and Abhicandra (J: P. Trevor, T: Shyam S. Habbu).

With Cash N Run’s victory bringing the curtain down on the final race, the day concluded with a varied and competitive programme, leaving racing followers eager for the next chapter of action in the ongoing Kolkata racing season.
