The sixth and final race at the Calcutta Races, Summer Meeting (Third Day), Wednesday, 11th March 2026, concluded with Enchanting producing a decisive performance to land The Fame Star Handicap, a Class III contest for horses rated 41–66 (rated 21–46 eligible) over 1200 metres at 05:00 PM.

Ridden with confidence by Suraj Narredu, the Deepesh Narredu-trained runner quickened smartly in the closing stages to seal victory and bring the afternoon’s racing to an exciting finish. Enchanting races in the colours of Dr Ram H Shroff, Mr Raj H Shroff rep Stride Livestock Pvt Ltd, Mr D R Thacker rep DT Racing & Breeders LLP, Mr Ashok Ranpise & Mr Rajeev Vasudeo Goenka. As the Kolkata race results 11 March took shape across the afternoon, the concluding sprint provided a fitting finale to a competitive card.

Breaking smartly from the gates, Enchanting settled just behind the early pace as the field sped through the opening furlongs of the six-furlong contest. Suraj Narredu kept his mount well balanced before asking for an effort approaching the final furlong. Responding gamely, Enchanting surged forward with a sharp burst of acceleration, taking command in the final strides and holding firm to the winning post.

Impressive Annie, ridden by R S Bhati and trained by Aashay Doctor, finished second after keeping the winner in sight for much of the straight but lacked the final turn of foot. Jimmy Bee, partnered by Vishal N Bunde for trainer Sabeel Shariff, stayed on to secure third place.

Earlier in the afternoon, the programme began with The Leonardo Handicap over 1200 metres at 02:30 PM, where A Wink Annda Smile, ridden by MD Azharuddin and trained by Rutherford Alford, scored for M/s Cherie Sports Pvt Ltd, finishing ahead of Lahina and Schwarzenegger. The 03:00 PM running of The Allodium Handicap over 1400 metres saw Adeya give jockey Vinay Jaiswal and trainer Javed Khan a notable success for owner Mr Vikram Bachhawat rep M/s Bachhawat Farms Pvt Ltd, with Amaze And Inspire and Rosalia filling the minor placings.

The Andropov Handicap at 03:30 PM went the way of Polka Dot, who scored under P. Trevor for trainer Aashay Doctor, representing a large ownership group headed by Mrs Menaka Gupta and Mrs Rina Mahindra among others, while Dubai Ruler and Anigraha finished second and third respectively. Momentum continued for the Doctor yard in the Indian Gold Vase at 04:00 PM, as Trakila, again ridden by P. Trevor, delivered another polished victory for the stable and a partnership of owners including Mrs Rina Mahindra and Mrs Menaka Gupta, with Glorious King and Black Eagle chasing home.

The feature staying contest of the afternoon, The Grand Annual Mile at 04:30 PM, further highlighted the dominance of Aashay Doctor’s stable when Admiringly, partnered by P. Trevor, produced a commanding performance to win for an ownership group including Mrs Snigdha Kapoor and Mrs Ruchi Kedia, defeating Stormchaser and Cape Tigani.

With Enchanting’s late flourish bringing the curtain down on proceedings, the third day of the Kolkata Summer Meeting concluded on an energetic note, leaving racegoers already anticipating the next round of action at the historic Kolkata racecourse.
